Marinka Home

Founded 2008
Kathmandu, Nepal
First 6 residents

Marinka Home was the foundation's very first home. Named after an early supporter, it opened its doors in 2008 for six boys that Lies Vink had found on the streets of Kathmandu.

The home grew quickly. More children arrived, more staff were taken on. After the 2015 earthquake, a donation helped realise a brand-new earthquake-resistant building, which was officially opened in May 2017.

In 2025, a beautiful short film was made about daily life in Marinka Home — a glimpse into the world we have built together.

Tiom Laura Home

Opened 2011
Kathmandu, Nepal
24 children at opening

In 2011, Tiom Laura Home was opened to provide twenty-four additional children with a safe place. Demand for care had outgrown the capacity of Marinka Home and a second home was urgently needed.

The new home followed the same warm approach: small groups, consistent carers and a daily structure that provides calm and security. Here too, all children go to school.

After 2017, both homes were housed in the new earthquake-resistant complex. In 2018, a total of 91 children were in the foundation's care.
